REPUBLICAN COUNTY CHAIRMEN
CONDEMN DEMOCRAT MEDDLING IN REPUBLICAN
PRIMARY AND CALL UPON REPUBLICAN CAMPAIGNS TO CONDEMN
AND REFRAIN FROM MISLEADING AND NEGATIVE CAMPAIGN TACTICS

Republican County Chairmen from all regions of Illinois are condemning Democrat meddling in the Republican Primary Election. They are also calling upon ALL Republican Gubernatorial Candidates to condemn and refrain from ALL misleading and negative campaign tactics.

Illinois Republican County Chairmen’s Association President Mark Shaw encouraged “Republican candidates to inform voters about their respective credentials, where they stand on issues important to the voters and why they are the best candidate to lead our ticket in the General Election, instead of attacking each other with misleading and untrue, negative allegations.”

Shaw noted that “unacceptable misleading and negative campaign tactics are being employed by certain Republican Gubernatorial Campaigns and/or their allies in the Republican Primary. This public, internal civil war is dividing and demoralizing the Republican Party electorate and encouraging the Democrats to meddle in our Primary Election!”

Shaw cautioned that “these continued tactics will result in the nomination of a weak or weakened Republican Gubernatorial nominee, depressed voter turnout to support all of our Republican nominees up and down the ballot, and catastrophic losses for our candidates in the General Election.”
Shaw denounced “these results as “totally unacceptable, especially when Republicans nationwide are poised to ‘catch a red wave’ this year due to the failed policies of President Joe Biden and Governor J.B. Pritzker and likeminded Democrats throughout Illinois and the nation.”

Shaw warned that “Republican County Chairmen from all regions of Illinois are united in following the late President Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment of ‘thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican’, and further united in holding Republican Gubernatorial Candidates and their allies accountable by informing the Republican electorate if these candidates and/or their allies refuse to follow Reagan’s admonishment and refuse to condemn these unacceptable tactics.”
